Using contact spray adhesive I covered the top deck with trunk liner ....starting to see what the finished look will be like :D

this is NOT the finished effect I will carpet over this so the install will be totally hidden the only difference being the foor will be higher than a standard car......

I dyed the factory side carpet black again amazing how green it looked then next to new black cloth.......

I started to cover the removeable hatch pieces they are a perfect fit

Remember the vinyl covered shapes earlier in the thread.........got the first one fitted they just support the hatch covers

The Sub is load bearing and is now exactly level with the floor so the carpet will cover everthing, just a small cut out 2"x8" for the sub....may add a grille or maybe remove the carpet backing in the small rear and replace with speaker cloth so it is invisible....

I would like to stitch "PORSCHE" into the carpet anyone Know a company that does this???? :D

I play all the music via an Ipod mounted in the glovebox, and I have mounted a bluetooth hands free adaptor behind the glove box......this is my headunit Alpine IDA 313..............Allways a good idea to read the manual first  when I started it up the the speakers rattled and I could not get a volume without the sound distorting....reading the manual it seems you need to turn off the internal amp if your using an external one........now it all works really well .....just doing the final tuning......

I have a Becker grand prix and by all accounts this needs a separate amp in order to get the best out of it

Hi Rav

I'm no expert but the Becker Gand Prix has 4x30watt RMS output plus a sub......this is more than enough to drive your speakers thats 30 watts RMS to each speaker on a standard car ......or do you have the 10 speaker option?

I turned my ashtray in 2 an I phone holder. This fitted flushed and with blue thoot head uint I can use the phone. I can also use it as a sat nav with directions coming over the music.

This is looking very tidy and highly poilshed! Well done

Now there's a cool idea. ......I was considering putting a power jack point in the A pillar trim so I can plug in the satnav without using the cig lighter .....might have a re-think..... :?:

No 10 speaker option, only the lowly 4 speakers. I was tempted to change the speakers in the front doors as well as the rear ones and add a simple sub in the right hand side boot cubby.
I will try the Becker and see what the output is.

Great pictures and build thread though. !!!

Thanks Rav

Pioneer have launched a 3 way 6x4 which you could use for the fronts.
I have been amazed at how good my rear speakers are and they are so close to the driving position they definately add to the sound quality, rather than by an amp I would by the 10 speaker rear grilles from Porsche or breakers cut away the trim panel and back of the grilles as per the thread and fit the biggest and best speakers you can, I got 6" coaxials in...... sub in the cubby hole is a good idea so long as you don't mind the work building a sub box to fit. other option is an active sub much less work and could be placed under the seat or in the spare tire well.....again pioneer do some great units...........

Just for reference … I have a 9" sub in the rear cubby from an American 944 specialist who build them to fit.

Cheers paul....It's just standard aftermarket Trunk liner ....better for wrapping than carpet...I am going to make a new carpet piece to cover the whole trunk area just on the lookout for some nice stuff ....

Sorry guys it's time for another and maybe the final update on my audio install........purchased some carpet from Coverdale and cut this to shape, I want the final install to look as stelph as possible.

the carpet was trimmed with vinyl and I used velco to attach it.......next week I will be fitted the press studs so it looks as close to the original as possible, I need to sort the carpet on the sides of the trunk a bit more stiching required I think

Fitted all the painted trims and treated myself to a new gear gaitor.......... :D
