 Post subject: Just about had anoth off this f****ing car

Had a rattle start in the passengers door, I thought it MIT be the metal hanger from the arm rest. And I still think it is, but I haven't managed 2 get the thing back together again yet! The vapour barriers are missing and my door card has started 2 fall apart, just lots off cracks and soft parts, so I tryied 2 use fibre glass 2 repire and strengthen the door cards this took a while and I'm on my 3rd attemp now as one off the conners has set lower then the mounting points, card must off droped slightly once removed and iv fiber glassed it 2 that shape.

Now electric windows, the wiring 4 the swicth was wraped around some other wires and was preventing me putting the wiring back tidily. I disconnected the wires from the swicth, as I open the case 3 off the wires came losse, and I didn't get a chance 2 take a pic. However there not really a lot off differnt ways the wires could go back in. There's 5 pins one ground 2 power/red middle 2 blue which go 2 the motor, so I'm guessing if these are round the wrong way the swicth would be to. Anyway really only a case off try both the reds. Swicth didn't work, so I tryed a few other combinations, still no joy. So I started trouble shooting, swicth works on drivers side, so swicth is fine, next I used some cables 2 extend the cables 2 the motor 2 power the motor on the other side, that works. Cleaned the contacts and it still didn't work. Next I powered a small light bulb from a spare dash cluster with the red leads and ground from the drivers side. This comfermed that the red leads are power leads, blue are only powered once the swicth is pressed. Next I tested the pansangers side, this showed that the ground is fine but there's no power at ethir red lead. ? So thinking I may have broke the red leads some were, I chased them back 2 the door jam. There's no visual sign off damage, so I cut the leads at the door jam and tryed 2 power the bulb once again. Still no joy.

Now I can't think y the fuse didn't blow if I had caused a fluat in the wiring when remaking the swicth back up again. I checked the fuse and swaped the relay. Still no joy. So I tried 2 power the passengers side from the driver side. A first it blew the fuse, so I swaped the red leads over in the passenger swicth, changed the fuse. Now the drivers side still works but the passenger side don't, and it due 2 there been no power at the red leads.

Anyone know were 2 go with this next? Were do the wires go once there passed the door jam? Is it up and along the dash or behind the foot wells?

This on top off all the things recently and the presure off needing the car 2 get 2 work has started a very deep anger towards my once loved car! Grrrrr

Top it all off the battery gone flat and my battery booster broke, mean I had 2 bump start the dam thing! Still haven't instoled any vapour barriers ether.

If your door cards are curenty good/soild I would recommend spraying the backs with some lacquer, I done one side a few months ago and that's held up great in compression 2 the side I didn't.

Ha, well spotted. Well it's 11pm and iv just got 2 passengers door card back on, all will be coming off again next weekend! Really feeling grumpy towards the car, don't no were 2 start with window problem.

Iv got a wiring diagram from Clarks garage. How do I go about testing wires? Do I test one end from the fuse or relay? Do I need ignition on? Pull apart the fuse box and get 2 each wire or can I just stick the probe in the slot from above like u would a relay or fuse?

The drivers side is working fine just the passengers side from both swicthes.

Can't seem 2 copy the link 2 the window page? http://www.clarks-garage.com/

Looking at the diagram looks like the problem would be at the squre labled 1 power conncetor, looks like the wire coming out at the top which links the passgers side.

What is a power connector? Is it likly this that failed or a lose conection at this point?

Anyone? Help b4 I just take a hammer 2 the dam thing !

Thanks. Could the power conction be just one cable? That then splits off in 2 4 others? there's one main cable on the drivers side that got muilt cables coming out other end wraped in shink heat. If so this could be were the problem
Starts, been that the drivers side still works from this power source
