Did it come up OK? I have a spare I was thinking of doing.

It looks as good as the cam cover which is surprising as I didn't give it much prep. I still want to put it through a few heat cycles so I know its not going to flake off or anything.

Snap - well almost,

Lovely looking job you've done on your car Rich, not trying to highjack your thread but a couple of queries :

1. When you say Big Blacks, do you mean M030 or Big Reds painted black ?? Mine are M030 and 'look' to be the same size as yours, although maybe your disks are bigger than mine ??
2. I noticed you mentioned 15mm spacers, I also had the same thoughts after having the 20mm EMC ones fitted all round, look fine on the front but maybe just a bit too much at the rear ??

And yes I did think I should have painted the calipers black, but was short of time and it seemed a shame to touch them when they looked to have been refurbed to a high standard.

Hi Sandy

The calipers are from a 928GTS these are the same as big red (993 Turbo) but the crossover pipe is on the right end for our cars.
Very similar size physically to the M030 but bigger pads and 322mm discs as opposed to 304mm.

I think 20mm is about 5mm to much on the back, looking out for some 15mm.

Have you had the back end reindexed? mines sits a touch to high.

Rich

Hello Rich,

Yes my disks are 304mm I believe. Agree 20mm looks a bit much on the back, I was worried about the tyres rubbing too but they never have.
The car was re-indexed by Chris at CG on the car, took a few hours - and he knew what he was doing !! The suspension (and brakes) is all M030 now, suspension on the softest settings and seems to be fine on reasonably bumpy roads, and also worked well on a recent fairly tame track evening.
Hopefully I'm finished spending money on it for a good while - although might look at wider seats as mine are non standard narrow ones - honest !!

Sandy

Have just fitted some comfort seats to mine, a few back problems with the hardbacks.

Have you spotted these?

P.S think you bought the calipers from me.

Rich

Yes the calipers, that's right so I did - looked great, fitted and working well thanks.
I've got the old ones to clean up and maybe try and move on.
