Hi all

I've just finished the engine swap on our trackday turbo, it runs well, plenty of power and the idle is solid.

The co was 10% at the mot, which I adjusted to pass by pulling vacuum lines!

The adjuster screw on the afm has corroded up (po never replaced the bung) so no adjustment available.

Is it possible to repair this screw, and if so, would it give me this much adjustment?

Won't give you that amount of adjustment as it is only a trim. I suspect you have a dead AFM or Throttle Position Switch. Also worth checking the air filter as on S2s n one changes it as it is too fiddly.

I've checked the tps, am I right in saying that it should just click as the butterfly closes?

All thoughts are pointing to the afm, the only part not changed out from the previous engine!

Correct! Check the AFM has the correct part no!.

Alistair ( Sulzeruk ) talked me through how the AFM works and seemed to know how to calibrate them ( I think? ). Might be worth a PM, as he might have one too.

I had the same problem with my turbo up at around 12%, it turned out to be the ecu.

This was the only time I have had work done at a garage on my car (apart from wheel alignment etc) as I couldnt find the problem after changing temp sensors AFM etc etc.

1 or 2 hours labour with Promax - might be worth booking it in some where, may be cheaper in the long run.
