any tips on bleeding? clarks garges says 2 jack the rear up higher then the front, dont really no how im goint 2 do that and still get under the car 2 bleed? got the front sitting on axle stand and the rear iv jacked up using jacks from the rear susspenion arms.

got it all off ok, starter motor bolts were a pain. put it all back and lowereded without bleeding, idoit!

dose this look like it could be the cause?

Hiya terra, from the picture that looks like a split on the lower left to me and it looks like it is leaking. I've just gone through a slave change with my Boxster and had exactly the same symptoms as you, the only problem is one week on and it has gone again
I keep meaning to write a post about it but just thinking about it does my head in.
Hope you have better look with it than me mate.
Andy Bruce.

Terry as per my instructions a few posts back jack the back up as high as it can go, the bleed nipple on the slave needs to be the highest point & you skinny against me being an FB so if I can squeeze underneath then you certainly can. Yup that slave looks sha99ed or knackered. 7mm combi spanner fits the PITA size bleed screw but you can use a small adjustable.

Just before you start t3rra, watch your front splitter on the ground when you jack up the back! You don't want to knock that off!

Thanks, I thought about that. I was going 2 remove the front bumper is it proposed a problem. I jacked the front up and was working under the car that way. Not 2 sure were 2 jack the rear up from now, I was using the bottom off the suspension struts. But if I need 2 get axle stands under there going 2 need 2 place the jack else were. As 4 the front is it ok 2 jack from the castor mounts?

I will try and blead the slave with it detached so I can hold the nipple as high as poss.

If you have (or have access to) a pressurised bleed system (easibleed) then I have had several experiences of this being successful with the car level.

I jack on the torsion bar supports & place the axle stands close by. You may get it bleed with the front up, I now realise that my bleeding issues were the cracked pipe.

Easibleed works fine for this. Just keep checking your reservoir and don't have the pressure too high. (PS 25psi is too high as I found out - 12 ish works just fine).

Well it was really quite easy. I removed the slave joined the hard pipe. Front end jack up, which makes it easyer and quicker 2 check the revoiuver. Hold the slave so the nipple is as high as possible, open and pump until there's no air just spray off fuilded. I drained a whole tank, 2 try and flush though the old fuild. Keep filling the tank as required. Then instol the slave. Front end still jacked up, I got someone else 2 press in the pedal while I opened the valve, then close while the pedal is manually pulled back. Did this a few times and job done.

Found the switching noise was due 2 the bolt holding the frame 2 the firewall slightly losse, must off been from flicking the clutch pedal back off the floor.
