We're getting poorer and poorer with this lot.

That's £760 a year in road tax for my current fleet.

So if you leave your car at home & use the train. Wheres the incentive. If you going to pay that much road tax might as well get your moneys worth.

That's right, for cars registered before March 2001, the current £185 cost goes up to £200.
However, a new top-of-the-range car will be taxed at £1390 in the first year and £440 per year afterwords...

The sad thing is that once the tax has gone up, even with a different government, I do not see it gong down :-( - politicians of every colour like the money coming in...

I've signed, how did 2001 become the cut off date, how can they legally justify this increase on say a 2003 5 year old vehicle and get away with it.

How much longer will the public put up with the CO2 excuse. Just a convenient cover to squeeze more money out of those that will pay.

I am staggered by how we all just take it on the chin every time???

I do agree.

I know we all moan about the French but the way they all stick together and get the results they want is the only way. They go on strike, have blockades etc for anything.... petrol, fags, income tax..... the lot.

All us English do is moan on forums and sign petitions which obviously just get ignored and then just except whatever gets imposed upon us.

Spen you may not realise it yet but Britain already is a Police state, it has been for nearly 25 years, they used the met police as an army for the 84 miners strike, manipulated news broadcasts to mislead the public and once they got away with it have done it ever since. Blair threatened to use the army if the last fuel protests escalated, and any civil disobedience can now be easily managed under the anti-terrorism laws, Britain already has more surveillance and less personal liberty than communist Russia ever did, soon be time to move out because we're to late to start complaining, the lunatics have long took over the asylum
