Hi Jackjosh,

I must admit I had my doubts about your suggestion to use a mobile phone, but hats off to you, it worked beautifully
and helped me confirm that after 17 years my sills are still looking good.

The brown marks are my first attempt at applying Dynax S50.

Im dealing with mine, 1 day every 2 weeks!
I have more problems than what yours is showing unfortunately. Just make sure you get at it all.

I think that the 924/944 coupe shell is very strong and I can't see that a bit of rot on the sills will affect it that much. It has a massive transmission tunnel, a big bulkhead, a solid torque tube connecting the engine to the rear mounted gearbox and torsion bars running crossways at the back. Also, on the 944, impact bars in the doors.

In the event of a collision, I can't believe that it will crumple up. Apart from the seatbelt mountings the sills don't seem to add much. Just a shame that the MOT tester doesn't see it like that :D

I don't know how true it is, but I was told a long time ago, that the sills were welded to the car after it had gone through the galvanizing process (or am I just making that up?)
