18" Wheels on 928

Post by TomCat William »

Hi
I have only had my 928 for a week now, I have read that 18" wheels are not recommended and guess what I have on my S4? Are 18" wheels not safe? They are 225 on the front and 265 on the rear.

Any help appreciated.

If you read this, I don't think they are not safe as such. It was just a lot of work to stretch to 17" wheels, so I don't think Porsche want to crunch the numbers for putting 18" wheels on and all the technical info' required to get OPC to do the work. So they can't officially support them, because they don't have the data to set them up right. If you look at some of the American sites, they are running 19" wheels.

Hi Lee

Yes that is where I read the info, thanks, not so worried now. Its booked in with Paul Anderson soon for a service and a wheel alignment, I am sure he would mention is something was wrong.

Hi :)

18s are fine, as was said Porsche never bothered with 18s and to be honest they were not really around in the 1970s when the car was designed....

I run 18s ....7.5 x 18 front and 10 x 18 rear.... they give a HUGE amount more grip as well...which I need :)

All the best Brett :)

Paul will keep you right. Only ever talked to him on the phone, but he is the best ( every one can't be wrong ).
