Just filled up the 944 which has been used recently for quite a few short journeys. THe gauge was lower than it has ever been so bottled it & filled it up. 70 litres of V power nearly £97 :? :x  Only slight advantage was that I had £7.50 worth of discount vouchures from Shell points but it was still painful. In the past few years it has only done about 1400miles a year so it only uses roughly 225litres per year but still painful.

What if you bought shares in an oil company to ease the pain?

:D

It is definitely a thought! The Jag is my daily driver & I have a fuel card from work so pretty insulated from fuel pricing normally. The other thing is my overall mileage is quite low because the Jag spends a lot of time at the airport or I taxi into Chatham to take the train. The Jag is also a deseasal & does 35MPG & around 400miles to a tank full all of which helps.

Thats shocking Jim. My '44 can do 36 mpg so long as your not doing short journeys! Havn't dared put more than £20 in mine for awhile. :(

Hi :)

Try owning a 928 lol.... I regularly put in over £100 and think my tank if totally empty would take around £120... at 14 to the gallon (town) or 4 ish on Nitrous...lol

All the best Brett :)

£107 for 80ltrs of diesel in my works van. Will get 550 miles out of that. £80 to fill to the brim my 944, will get 250 miles if I'm careful with that :?

Don't worry Sean - it'll be £8/litre before you need to fill it up again.

The cost of filling up is shocking, when you see how much is tax. It's getting harder to justify a toy to SWMBO when it is so thirsty.

I think my current engine does about 10 to the gallon at best so the 928 engine will be an improvement... with more power! lol

Though just think guys... it could be worse!!! If you had to fill your car up with bottled water it would cost about £2 per ltr!

You could always fill a 1 gallon jerry can on your fuel card every time you fill up your jag.

As if I would! But minor problem is that the Jag is diesel & it is the petrol version of the 944 :?

Thankfully, my car has a magic petrol tank.

This morning I sat at a red light and watched the fuel gauge needle rise from just below a quarter-full to almost a half.
