Seat upholstery

Post by ahphillips »

I hope it is OK to share this, but being a very newcomer to 928 ownership I have been super impressed with all the help and advice and just wanted to pass this on.
I am loving the 928 I bought.
I particularly like the trim and although I have a nice list of projects, one thing I wanted to address once I'd validated the structural integrity of the car, was some wear on the drivers seat.
I had a couple of recommendations as to where to get the work done, but somewhere on the BBs it mentioned Wessex Car Trimming as being good quality work but not too expensive.
They could not have been more helpful, and when it turned out that the leather colour was quite rare so therefor expensive, they suggested stripping out the backs of the seats and using that leather for the bolster.
So a perfect match and the backs were re-done with a perfect match fablon as per the door trims.

Looks good. Did they do all the work? Or did you strip the seats out and take them to the workshop for them?

Yes I took the seats to them, just easier for me really as it was an hours drive.
