Hello all,
looking for a top notch 944 turbo se. Must be in A1 condition throughout, original panels and paint ( no accident damage, localised paint not a problem ), absolutely no rust. Prefer a standard car, but sensible modifications are ok. Must have full and up to date service history ( porsche/specialist ), previous mot's and receipts. Not to many previous owners. Must have all original books, tools etc. Prefer around 80,000 miles or less. Not to bothered about colour, although white would be my first choice. I'm a mature, genuine enthusiast looking for a car to keep. I wont mess you around, and have a decent budget waiting for the right car. I'm based in n/w London, but willing to travel nationally. Please post a reply, or email me.

craig70@talktalk.net

Cheers

Craig.

Is that really realistic? That means buying a show car thats used little. There better with regular use. So long as the works been done a higher mileage may even be beneficial. Make sure you've read Jims buyers guide on here. Joining the club will help. :)

Thanks for the link david. Really want to try and hold out for a lower mileage example.

Cheers

Totally understand what your saying, but its not going to be a daily driver, as i have a company car. Recently missed out on a 70k mile car. Will check out Jim's buyers guide. Thanks for the advice JJ.

Cheers

Craig.

One here for 9k

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2037091.htm

Was on for 8500 a couple of weeks back, but looks as if the guy has sold it to a dealer. A few others in your criteria on that site.

Thanks Red Rider, but i'm really looking for an SE. Seems people are asking for more money on the older cars, than the equivalent later model.

Cheers

Craig.

NOt sure why you are so hung up on miles. 80K on a 18-19 year old car is around 4,500miles per annum ALL ITS LIFE which will not do it any good at all. Low mileage is also only relevent if you intend keeping it low otherwise the first time you use it you've devalued it. We've had buyers on here before who've been hung up on mileage or spec or both & they've all struggled. I suspect the no rust is unlikely to be possible as well. Even the most prestine cars I've looked at have had a touch of the red body lightner around them, so I expect there are probably zero that are completely rust free.

Craig,
Unless you have a cunning plan and need a tiny mileage car for that, not considering a car for 35K miles could entail a very long and fruitless search.
Ultimately the choice is, of course, yours but there are really only a handful (say 20) good cars known to the various forums and on the odd occasion they come up they don't tend to last long.
Anything around the 100K mark is a low mileage car.

You really could be making a rod for your own back before you get even get into the discussion about reliability and using a low mileage, little used vehicle.

Best of luck with the search, there was a car on Jersey I think but that may have sold.

ETA there's a blue se at Eporsche that fits the bill. They seem to have some decent cars and generally get talked about in a favourable light so worth a look. Not too far away either.
