When I had the seats out I pulled back the carpet and removed the rubber bungs. Took a look inside the sills and they seem quite healthly. I would like 2 keep them this way and was thinking when it comes 2 removing the seats 4 dying I would put some form off rush proffer in there.

What's the best stuff? And how 2 make sure it gets everywhere? Is expanding foam any good?

Not sure it's a good idea or not.

when you go to sell the car, if someone sees rust proof treatment - they may think the car has rust when it hasn't....... catch 22....

Dynax S50 from Bilthamber.
If you buy the 750 aerosols you get a 2 ft length of tube with the spray nozzle on the end. If you buy 2 you get 2 2ft lengths and then you can join them together and they will reach the whole length of the sill.

I used Dintrol 3125 and it appears to soak into the rusy areas well. Can't vouch for the long term effect. I also tried waxoil but didn't like it, is is to foamy and does not apear to soak in.

If your carpet is loose you can get at the sills from inside. Look at this pic from Indyz12's resto project.

You can see rubber plugs in the picture. You can pull them out and spray into them. Need to do this myself before winter.

Another place worth spraying is in the boot. I notice the metal at the light clusters rusts. Also if you pull out the spare wheel there are more of the plugs like in the picture above. There is a cavity there and if it rusts you get rust from the inside out just below the number plate on the rear.

My choice! So plus 1.

This one always wins the awards in the car product tests.

Another vote for Dynax S50 here. Did my sills recently but still need to lift the carpet and do inside the inner sill but it does a good job and is pretty easy to apply.

I painted some sump oil and grease mix into my cill last year which has halted the rust dead in its tracks. The oil creeps along the metal and penertrates everywhere excluding air and water. Have you ever seen a car rusting underneath that has had an oil leak ? Messy but 100% effective
