Hello Everyone,

I have just completed a 18 month restoration of an historic 924. It is the car which Tony Dron won the first ever 924 Championship Race Series in 1978 and entered by by local Porsche dealer Gordon Ramsay.

I have heard that this car was displayed on the Tipec club stand at the NEC classic car show some years ago. can anyone confirm? If so were there any photos in the club Mag? does anyone have a photo of the car on the stand? Any help to trace some history of this great car would be greatly appreciated.

I have attached some photos of the car for your perusal.

Best Regards from Tyneside, Barry

Wow! The underside looks amazing. Will you drive it or will you hang it from the ceiling of your living room

It was obviously a labour of love and a serious amount of work and money. What are your plans for it, historic racing perhaps?

Hi,

Thanks for all your kind comments. It has taken about 18 months of hard work during which i managed to do everything except the paintwork. I have attached a another couple of photos.

Credit due there Barry, looks like a proper job, too good to race, with provenance like that it should appreciate in value....well done.

Barry, that is a very good job and very well done. I miss my white 924, but after looking at the one you have built I know I could not have done a job as good as you. The car should be at this years show!!!!

Barry,

It may be worthwhile having a word with Tom Ferguson about that car as I seem to remember him mentioning it once before.
