Am i just being paranoid guys? or are my wheels a good inch to far in? i have swaped my old cookie cutters for these alloys i found on ebay as they were cheaper to buy with decent tyres than buying new tyres for the old wheels, and they look awsome, but the car dosn't have the wide stance it used to have, im already running 28mm spacers on the rear which makes the wheel center the same as the cookie cutters, but it still looks odd.

theyre too far in ;) seems like you got an early '44 with the 23 offset and those are cup 2 off a 993 or something? much bigger offset (55 front / 65 or 70 rear if they are off a 993) id check the wheels themselves for the exact figures. so calculate the size of spacer needed subract the original offset from the new offset.

nb offset is the distance from the centre line of the wheel to the point at which the inner face meets the hub. hence bigger offset - wheels sit in, smaller offset - wheels sit out.

ofc if you buy wider rims this complicates things as each extra inch results in ~13mm less clearance inside and out. to balance the wheel correctly on the hub you still use the same calculation though.

should really be a sticky for this it comes up about once a month at least ;)

I will be selling a set of 17" Milla Miglia Cup 3 (turbo twists) in a few weeks. Milla Miglia are no longer in business. ET is 23 (which makes them uber rare).
Rubber is good Falken with less than 1000 miles on them.

Peter Ormrod from Performance wheel supplies (the original supplier) gave me a guide price for £400 without tyres.
I will be looking for £500 including tyres.

thanks rav but i couldn't justify another £500 on it, my current wheels cost me £200 already so i think i'll just have to work out a way to use them or ebay them and get nwe tyres for my old wheels, thanks though, they do look very nice

Proper spacers to make those fit will be £200-ish. Better to buy the proper sized wheels IMO.
