I have attached a layout of where we are in the Blue Zone marked IPEC next to the MOC Marcos Owners Club.

We have booked a marquee which will be kitted out with tables and chairs so you can take the weight off and eat lunch in style. For those that haven't been before it can take a while to get in especially Saturday and Sunday. I intend to be on site by 8.00am each morning and y number is 07500 332790 if you need anything.

We do not man the stand all weekend, the parking last year was a shambles. Cars looked like they had been abandoned rather than a car club showing off it's jewels. I will mark out with tape where to park, herringbone style in double rows with the front corner of the car in line with the tape. Dodgy parking will be photgraphed and used to shame you publically. :D

We have received an email from the organisers and I guess this may be a reaction after the incident with the Honda at GFOS.

All vehicles to be on club stands by 10.00am and not moved until 17:00

Oh dear. Rather detracts from the main event for Goodwood though. Are they going to close the hill next year? Cuz that's the only recourse available now to the H&S police.

I hope the peeps are OK.

Sean Smallman wrote:They did the moving motorshow where customers could book a drive in a car and shoot up the course. A guy jumped in a Honda Type R put it in gear and went backwads instead of forwards.

He ran over four visitors and destroyed a glazed stand, not good and closed the event for 3 hours.
Almost what really happened but not quite! He was actually a Honda employee, (customers never drove in the tent) & he fainted because of the heat at the wheel, pressing the throttle & damaging a Jag & another car & causing minor injuries to 3 pedestrians. The guy is on PH & confessed all.
I'd add that most car shows we've been going to have had the "don't move cars whilst the public is there" for years.

Hello Everybody, I'm asking for a favour.

Is there is anybody who is going on Saturday but is leaving before the evening as my daughter and her friends are desperate for tickets so that they can go in the evening. If anybody has any tickets could you please let me know so that we could meet at the TIPEC stand on the day or leave them on my windscreen (XYY 251M)

Cheers
PS. I will try and park neatly, Sean

You might need to hire a mini bus for her mates, I reckon you will get quite a few tickets. :)

I will be there from about 8am - 8.30 (but then I live 5 mins away) Another question - I take it one blue pass for the car will suffice for the entire weekend ? I know of one or two people that have been given 2 passes for the windscreen but with only one car going?

I only ask as a member has bought some tickets, but does not have a blue parking pass.

I will bring a laser marker also to ensure the precise angle of parking is 33 degrees perpendicular to the suns relevant position with Jupiter. A lot clubs make the mistake of taking Neptune as the guide.... silly people !

Is there a cruise meeting at Warwick services on either the Saturday or Sunday? I'd be up for a convoy from there to Silverstone. Sure we've donethat in the past??

We'll meet up at Warwick Services (southbound M40) from 7.30am for a 7.45am departure. That should get us to Silverstone around 8.45am
