Sorry a 4 x 4 doesn't compare to the 944 on the basis that very few run a RR or similar as a toy, whereas lots of us run sports cars especially a Porsche. This is why a Cayenne despite being a Porsche depreciates like falling lead.

Sorry about the delay in posting a response. Thanks to everyone for the information. The brochure pages and extras lists are quite an education.
I'll post a picture when I can make the system work for me.

Hi and welcome to the forum.
Couldn't find an exact price in my books strangely enough but found a listing for a '85 turbo coupe which gave a basic list price of £25,311 at launch so if it's anything like my '89 Turbo SE coupe it could be around the £40k mark which was the price of a decent house for some people back then  Only 100 RHD cars were made so you've got a rare piece of machinery there which will only go up in value in the coming years :D We need some pics of the gorgeous machine when you can :bounce:

Hello Everyone,
Sorry it's been a while but thanks for all the pricing info especially the pictures of old brochures - They really were expensive! Even more than the Audi quattro Turbo I ran for years.
Pictures were requested, now I've found out how to do it here are a couple.
The car is almost perfect except for a non-operative air con, a couple of stone chips and some fading of the colour of the upholstery. It's a fairly chunky drive, which may be the big tyres - I don't know 'cause I've never driven one on narrower tyres. The performance is electric and provided the boost is kept down most of the time (easy rt foot!) 25 mpg seems possible.

I do have another question after which I promise to join the TIPEC properly, (i.e. pay some subscriptions).
My car runs it's temperature gauge at between first and second marks, entirely consistent. In heavy traffic it rises nearer to the second mark, which is half way. However the bonnet itself does get very hot - in a light shower the falling drops steam off and if you put your hand on the bonnet with the engine at operating temperature it's hard to hold it there because the bonnet is so warm.
There is plenty of coolant and no leaks. Is this about normal or should I check the gauge?
Elsewhere in the forums people are talking about thermostats marked 80, 83 and 87 centigrade. That's fairly warm.
Thanks a lot. :D

Running temp sounds about right they do kick some heat out, quite a raer thing you have there get it rustproofed and enjoy...................if you want it to be seriously quick it van be done for not an awful lot of money.
Regards prices these days i have recently bought a BMW 735 i Cosmos Black with Sand Beige leather local car with full history mainly dealer, all keys books first aid kit and tools in lovely condition with 86k.
Alpina sports suspension, shadowline black trim (dechromed) 12 way electric sports seats, sat nav, TV,Integral phone and fax !
Enogh gadgets to fill a page.
3.5 v8 smooth as silk the engine won 60 odd worlwide awards does 25/25 mpg around the houses and 28 on a run.
Was 70 odd k when new, i gave £2350.
By the time i have it minty i will have around £2.8k in it.
What a wonderful car for peanuts.

Friend of mine just got a BMW 328i with full leather & now faults 12mths MOT. £650. Needs a bit of paint as one door is the wrong shade of silver but thats it. Good cars for nothing at the moment. If theres no insulation under the bonnet it will steam! Temp sounds good to me. With the 87 stat in it would be near the three quarter mark.

Thanks for posting the options price list, which makes for really interesting reading :) . Any chance someone could clarify a couple of things for me:

1. What style are the 'Sports seats'?

2. Which model of wheels are the 'Disc Design' ones mentioned at the bottom?

Cheers, Phil

Sport seats have large noticeable side bolsters (usually worn !) your car will be fitted with Design 90 (D90) wheels they were wider on the Turbo coupe and expect they will be on the cab.
The other seats are known as comfort seats i personaly prefer them.
The disc wheels have a noticably flat face with elongated slots around the perimeter.
They would not have been fitted your car, some early turbos came with them.
