Righting this on wifeys laptop. My one year old daughter found the power button to my PC. What a game. Turn it on. Turn it off. 47 times later. The fuse tripped for all the sockets. Computer smells a bit burned. It was 5 months old..... Kids. New I should have taken out accidental damage......

Oh dear fried PSU! And possible knacked HDD Really Really glad I don't have kids

Check your house insurance as mine covers me for accidental damage to electrical items such as TV, Radio Laptops etc.

The PSU is fried. Not sure about the rest. Stripped it out to go back as the company that supplied it are willing to replace it. It's a 620W Corsair & there not cheap. In a couple of weeks Ill find out what else is goosed......

oh dear. My 3yr old managed to prise every key off my laptop. Took hours to put them back.

Only just got it back together. Only the PSU thankfully & all it cost was a fiver to post it back. Got brave & unlocked the dormant cores. Now a quad core at 3.2Ghz so it's a lot faster than I paid for.
