:( Well, they came back out Wednesday gone and recoloured the bits they had missed, but they refuse to take the seats back and recover the whole drivers side bolster.

1st I'm gonna complain to Furniture Clinic about them, as they are subcontracted by them and doing this poor workmanship in Furniture Clinc's name. (Hopefully they will kick their butts.)

Show us some pics, if you haven't got the finish you were promised have they given you your money back?

The finish is O.K., it's just the seam along the bolster that I'm not happy with now. I think there's more chance of hell freezing over than me getting any money back off them.

It's my own fault for paying cash and not being home when they were deliverd.

Well dont give up - make an absolute pain of yorself . Clearly they are not re dying the the leather just spraying it with a colour. I think the issue will be how long before what has dried on to the surface starts to crack and go back to where it was. If you go quiet now then if something does crop up in the future its kind of too late.

Good luck in getting some sort of satisfaction out of this shower.

Don't compromise and blame yourself for not being in.

Phone them everyday until they either finish the work to an acceptable standard or give you you're money back.

Hi Kevin,

Suggest you get Trading Standards involved, someone else suggested this, take lots of photos so that before and after can be compared and I thought you were also in the A.A. If so they have a legal department because it might go that far and if so they may also be able to advise you about having an independant leather specialist look at them together with an estimate to put things right. Then if all goes well you can perhaps get the company concerned to pay for the rectification works and you would have it done by someone else.

Finally, don't broadcast who the company is on this or any other site; we can start spreading the good news about them starting on Monday next at club night then the whole Porsche community will get to know.

Oh! and if it does go down the legal road don't forget to reclaim the cost of time off work when they broke an appointment

It's a pain, I've been there myself on more than one occasion, the last big win, apart from money was a brand new 27" TV

See you Monday or possibly Sunday if weather is fine

Gordon Brown and his band lifted me for £180 this morning so I went out for a blast to vent my anger

Hi Kevin

Try 08454 04 05 06 and also for a good read but a bit heavy go to http://www.consumercomplaints.org.uk which is the government advice site

The telephone number is also the government advice site

Also you could have a look in your local phone directory. There is bound to be an office in Brum somewhere and you may even be able to get a local appointment with an advisor

You need to speak to the Subby again first and back it up with a letter highlighting the chain of events so far.
Also send a copy to the company who you placed the booking with or who appointed the subby.

Do you have photo's of before, after and what they look for now?

You need to be able to demonstrate your expectation of the quality of the finish by either advert, conversation etc.
This will help prove that they are making false promises in there promotional material or the work is sub standard.

Good luck.
