Hi Mick
Welcome to the forum.
You've picked an iconic car, they are great fun and look the business a proper drivers car.
The best advice I can give anyone looking to buy their first car is to go along to the local Club meet and get to know about the cars from people who own them. The guys in your patch are a friendly bunch and they meet at the Angel at Ferndown this coming Tuesday from 7:30pm ask for Nick.
Your budget is going to dictate the quality of the car you buy, there are few genuine bargains out there and old Porsches can cost a small fortune to put right if you buy the wrong one. It's easy to let the heart rule the head, sadly I receive a few calls a week from people who have bought a money pit.
Corrosion is the biggest problem for a not well cared for impact bumper 911 and a few bubbles will generally require replacement panels, despite sellers telling you it's on the surface and a cheap fix.
