When was it last done? I think every second time the belts are done is usual? Mine is getting done on Thursday as I don't want to take the chance. All the rollers and tensioners too.

If it is like Scotland, just ask your RO what garage is best in your area and phone for a quote. Thats what I SHOULD have done, but mine is booked in now. Where are you and how far can you travel? I've seen a few garages mentioned on the forum, try praise and grumble section for your area.

Hi,

As a new member and someone who has just had a water pump go, I would say absolutely and definitely. To see the effort involved look at Van's video on the Rennworks wesbite and also on You tube and see how much hassle it is to take it all back to do the pump.

I'm learning and have learnt that if you're that far back from the front of the car once, don't wait to do it all again. Ultimately, you either save hours if you can do it yourself or hundreds of pounds if you're paying out.

I am fortunate in that Jim is helping me out as I live locally and also have a basic understanding of cars. If that isn't you then get it done..

nuff said?

Matt
