Have a look on Clarks Garage. I had the same problem on mine when I neede dto wire in a new head unit, and the guide on Clarks cleared it all up for me.

Did mine recently but can't remember what colour the wires were (might even be different for an oval dash). A multimeter should be able to shed some light on it though.

Multimeter job unfortunately. I worked my way through & connected it to a choc block then used an ISO connector from there. One important wire is the black (I think) that is laced in with the aerial lead, this powers the aerial amp on the bottom of the windscreen in the later cars & needs connecting to a 12 source switched by the radio, normally elecy aerial output.

As said, multimeter is the way forward in these things. I prefer to solder the joins myself and that is what I did.

Whereabouts are you based? Someone may be willing to give you a hand with this.

nice one!, i wondered why my reception was crap. just hooked up the black wire and its so much better :) my stereo was a bit messy as i think its had an after-market 10 speaker system fitted so possibly not a standard loom. luckily i had pinout of both head units so was easy enough. 12v from car will usually have a fuse on. supply in mine was yellow and red wires, cant remember offhand which was ignition and which was permanent but i had to do some swapping to get it to work. Antenna was a thicker coax cable with the black wire taped to it ending in a small spade connector.

I live in Pontyclun nr Cardiff.

I still cant find a permanent live. I checked the radio fuse under the bonnet and it was fine.

Is there an inline fuse for the live feed somewhere in the car?
