hi all i went over 2 the respary shop this moring and got stucking in at 6am with them, turns out i know the bloke whos doing my car, so i ask if i could help out.

so far the bumpers front and rear are done, and one side off the car.

front bumper been filled along the joint of the chin spoiler and smothed and filled on the end 2 contune the contuors. washer jets delted.

rear bumper the rubber strip removed and the 12 holes filled with fibre glass along with the toeing eye.

wing mirror needed new mounting point and old re filled.
front wing with the dent in filled, new plate made for lower sill area and mounting points.
rear 1/4 had some pervoiuse repire work, which i didnt even notice in the 100 times i hand washed and posihed the car. this wasnt 2 the standard they were happy with so it was cut out and redone. there was also a lot of filler arounf the wing mirror area,
door strips removed and staying off.
decals and stone chip, (lump paint gurad along the lower door sill) re moved.

took some pics on my moblie but cant seem 2 get them off at the mo.

thinking of leaving the stone gurads off? is it likely to become a big problem area, with stone chips? didnt seem to be?

Sounds good but why remove the door strips? They work. My car gets parked in standard parking bays & I've seen people opening doors onto mine. Without those strips it would be a mess. Stone guards yes you need them. But like Frenchy says get the real thing! Got a few stone chips on the front end but nothing like it was & it's two years since it was done. Haven't waxed it since last Bradford Classic (May) & it's still shiney after winter outside. Can't beat clear coat. :)

i think it looks a lot nice without the door strips. i dont mind parking out the way and walking a bit more. under the door and along the bottom, i had a lumpy thick rubber. is this also stone guards/ chip protection?

Tool kits sell for too much on ebay. There porscheapart also but there expensive for this stuff also. Maybe Cococola has one. Have you tried OPC for the stone guards? Or JMG if your local OPC arn't helpful.

Is it stone chip guards you are after? There are some on either ebay or pistonheads. Pistonheads are the cheapest. Can't vouch for either of them.

There the ones I was gona get, Couldn't find them on eBay last night. only black ones, thank you. eBay ones claim 2 be 3m so should be good if they are what they say. Good feed back. Most people do leave feed back based on shiping speed and not after testing the product. Thanks again

it recommends you don't fit the stoneguards for about 28 days on new paint, presume the paint has to fully cure before application
