Engine Cleaning????

Post by Pepi1677 »

I was wonder what people use to keep the engine clean. I have a 996 and whilst the engine is not too dirty it could be better.

I saw this the other day is it any good?

I'm personally doubtful of products that clean and protect - they generally tend to be much better at one or the other, so I'd go for separate products to get best of breed for 2 very different jobs.
I've not tried this product, but ask what bits you want to clean - metalwork or plastics, as again different products - degreaser, alloy brightener, plastic dressing, soft lacquer or just TFR for a general wipe down all have their place.

Old thread I know. Just tried Autoglym Engine & Machine Cleaner today and it came out pretty good and only took about half an hour.

One of the best things i use is good old WD40,works a treat on alloy and protects steel parts as well, solvol works well on some of your polished parts but be careful as it is slightly abrasive........
