followed my first panamera turbo today, all the way to sutton coldfield OPC, pity it was on the back of a breakdown truck, the driver took it straight 'round the back to the workshop. anyone heard of any issues with the panamera ?

Nope & the engine is based on the Cayenne which is reputedly one of the most reliable engines Porsche have ever built! Might just be moving it from one dealership to another.
Was in OPC Tonbridge last week & staggered on how many registered Panameras there were there. They said they'd sold lots!

friend of mine had an 04 cayenne S, nothing but trouble with it, including a total engine self destruct when number 5 liner fell into the sump, luckily still under warranty at £7.5k, couldn't have been that disappointed with it as he part chopped it for a cayenne turbo

We were looking to buy a Caynne and it was quite shocking how many had new engines in less than 80,000 miles

There were a couple of Cayennes at Oulton Park on track day, two red ones parked together.

They are not Cayennes, they are Touregs!

(I actually like Cayennes though and would have one in a heartbeat if they were big enough for the family)

Apparently talking to Tonbridge they have had a few with what sounds like top end problems which turn out to be piston issues & that is a new engine time, mileage doesn't seem to be the issue. But they have lots which have done 130K plus. Apparently there is a plastic manifold which ages under the inlet manifold & these are starting to crack & leak. The replacement is ali but it is 5 hours labour to change.
The reason I was asking was that I was possibly going to VT the Jag & get one as they are fantastic value at the mo.
The running costs are nowt as bad as I thought they'd be as the servicing is every 2 years or 40K.
