You must have a special relationship with him Jim

You frequently praise Bert at Berlyn, but in all the times I have done my research over the last four and a half years Bert has never come up with the best price.

I actually bought my belts and rollers from ECP because they offered the best prices, and then gave me discount too when I asked.

Nope but when I asked him for a quote he quoted for the lot & ommitted one item (for a reason). Everyone else I asked either quoted for what they thought I wanted or didn't do all of it. ECP are cheaper no doubt but don't do the seals & top hats & I'm not piddling about ordering bits from here & other bits from elsewhere.
Zims in the US were slightly cheaper but if I had got nailed for VAT, duty & handling charges it would have ben quits.

Are the belts and rollers on the S2 the same as the 968? I see on http://www.promaxmotorsport.com that they have the S2 kit listed for £209.95 and the 968 kit for £159.95. Their prices look like they include vat and delivery.

Pretty sure they aren't. The kit pix is identical though. This doesn't include the seals & top hats that I was talking about though.

Some of the other sites I have looked at list the S2/968 belts as the same. Out of interest what seals & top hats?

Top hats are hat shaped pieces of stainless which the oil seals run on. This means the hats wear rather than the shaft. 4 seals on a 944 lump 2 for the balance shaft, one for the crank & the other for the cam.
I think that the S2 & 968 belt kits maybe the same as the 3L block is common & the heads are very similar.

Just looked out the receipt from 04 07 2009.

Five rollers and two belts cost me £170 including VAT and discount at ECP.

All the descriptions have 944S / S2 / 968 on them, except for one roller, which must be the 'extra' one.

I'd go to GSF IMO. Dayco belts which are supposedly the OE belts and INA tensioners. Cheapest out of the lot too (around £160 all in for 5 tensioners and 2 belts). Ordering them can be a pain but I have deciphered their part numbers if you want them :)).

The part nos was one of the issues I had with GSF. The list didn't make any sense to me!

I get the 5 S2 rollers, both belts and also genuine balance belts pulleys from ECP for £180 I think. ECP do do the seal kits for the front, includes the O rings, seals and very fine gaskets that sit behind the top hats.
