Lo all, quick question :P does anyone who has a manual bost controller ever turn it down and doesnt every car have a manual boost controller called an accelerator pedal.

The reason I ask is that Promax have just told me that my current Lindsey Racing Boost Enhancer does the same job and that there really is no need to fit a manual boost controller when chipping the car. I am not questioning them as they clearly know what they are talking about but am wondering do folk turn their boost down ad hoc.
Surely if you dont press your foot right to the floor the ECU will provide gentler boost anyway wihtout turning it down, we dont all drive everywhere on full boost do we ?

Cheers
Mas

You're right but can you resist putting your foot to the floor?

See, there’s the rub …

That loud pedal is very addictive in a Turbo.

I agree with that!
I have an EBC with 3 settings in it, so I do turn it down or off at times. But it is just a matter of pushing a button and I admit to finding it difficult to resist.

A manual boost controller is more aimed at cars with a Dual Port Wastegate so you can accurately set the boost level. With a standard wastegate you are much better off with the Boost enhancer as it simply delays premature opening of a worn factory wasetgate and reduces lag.
