Hi All,

Anyone got any recommendations? I have some snapped nipples!

In the South West would be great if possible.

Anyone managed to recon them themselves? Understand I might have to replace those with broken nipples.

Thanks
Regards
Paul

I assume these are Brembo 4 pot type callipers? Yes I'm in the middle of doing some 944 ones. The seals & plates are eyewateringly expensive & I'm not sure if pistons are available.
Assuming it is the same size nipples as the 944 then they are M10 x 1 but drilling them out requires a drill press & a lot of luck, otherwise you'll scrap the calliper.

Hi Jim,
Thanks for the reply. Mine are not 4 pot. Luckily they changed the following year :-) I know they cost more.

Its looking expensive ... cant even find someone who recons them anyway. Looks like £125+vat per corner from Porscheshop is the likely answer, but I might have a go at re doing the ones without snapped nipples myself.

Regards
Paul

An update ... just ordered a set of 4 recon calipers which should be with me on Monday next week all being well.
The existing discs and pads are in good condition, but thinking about replacing while the work is being done.
Any comments/thoughts/recommendations?

Thanks
Regards
Paul

Has anyone tried these cheaper brake discs and pads you can get out there?
The likes of which Porscheshop and design911 etc sell at half the price of Porsche?

The ones on my 944 are from Bert at Berlyn. With EBC pads. When I bought they were Zimmerman but he now sells Sebro which is OEM Pork. The difference is whether the bells are painted so as not to rust. No way would I buy consumables like this from an OPC!

Thanks Jim.
I will go for it I think. Seems silly to replace good parts, but on the other hand they are changing the calipers and at least I know it is done.
Now need to think about changing any of the pipes as well :-)

Regards
Paul
