I've just bought a heater control panel to change with the one I have in my 944.

Any tip's on how to remove the trim to get to the four screw's that hold the panel in please ?

be careful when removing the clock trim strip as they become very brittle

Didn't have to remove the clock trim as the heater control panel has its own trim.

Did this solve your heating problem?

No,I still have hot air blowing all the time..

Have you changed the infamous clip? Next to / under the glovebox?

Yes it was working fine,and another one I found a bit lower down.

I had the opposite problem in that I had constant cold air blowing into the driver's footwell.

I eventually found the problem was in the blower unit under the bonnet near the windscreen. Looking in through the mesh at the end I could see that the flap was not closing, therefore not cutting off the cold air. The actuator mechanism on the side was seized. Cleaned and lubricated everything and have never had a problem since - except the white clip broke once.

I might suggest that you may have the same problem but the flap is sticking shut and not letting cold air through.

Have you checked for vacuum leaks and made sure that the heater valve (vacuum operated) on the side of the head is working?

I've changed the heater valve.

Does anyone have a photo of the actuator mechanism so I know what Im looking for ?

Look's like the cause of the problem is. Number 3 the control motor for temperature mix ;




Problem is now where would I get one from ?
