Good point that it is an 86 like mine, the most powerful of all the S2s (310 hp) they were ONLY made for the 86 year....

I thought all S2s had 310hp, the difference for the '86 year was that the later ones had the S4 suspension and brakes.

Regarding the first car mentioned in this thread, I notice that it appears to have cup mirrors (not cheap!) and the later wheels, so somebody must have cared for it once, however I'm not so sure about the red paint on the "spider" and that black hose across the top - looks like something other than routine maintenance may have been done on the engine (ignition leads with those holders don't look like S2 ones either?). You'd definitely have to go and have a good look before bidding and the seller has (deliberately?) chosen a short auction period that doesn't give much time to arrange an inspection.

The picture of the rear also makes it look lopsided, but I have a similar problem keeping my horizons level, so that's not necessarily indicative of anything

Hi :)

No all the other S2s apart from 86 had 300 hp I think....

The 86 has 310 hp plus S4 Brakes and suspension plus a different rear exhaust box and battery etc...

I think you are right about a problem at the back...I thought it looked lopsided as well....

All the best Brett :)

The one with the video disappeared early from ebay. I guess somebody must have gone to view it and made a cash offer.

True, 928S had 300bhp and all 928S2 had 310bhp. My S2 is a very early 84 car with twin distributors. Also believe that the S2 was only had for the european market.

:( Not sure it's my idea of fun, unless the buyer is aware of the cost of parts I think they could end up shedding a lot of tears, or spending a long time on the net and at breakers. :)

The time trawling the net and breakers is the best bit about owning one to me! When its finished I will drive it about a bit, sell it and start again on another one :-)
