Clutch problems.......... :(

Well maybe it's not so bad. Cars always been a bit arkward to get change gear either into or out of, when cold. This week i've been stuck in gear a couple of times. Only when starting from rest. Usualy park the car in gear & leave the hanbrake off. Have problems on & off all the time. Starting from rest it goes in ok. But doesn't want to come out of first unless I kill the engine. Couple of times it has come out of first & the engine has picked up on it's own. Since it's already had a slave 3 years ago. And is no worse when hot. My guess is the master cylinder is tired. Anyone had this problem or want to disagree? £50 from Bert & not too arkward to get to. At least on the engine side.

Car has been idle a lot recently. First i was working in Birmingham. Next I had the dreaded Virus for a week. Then it snowed. So it hasn't done a lot for a while. Used it this week as the weather was better. It started  But the clutch was acting up  Now after ordering the new master cylinder it's decided to work again. Just got back from a good run to Kendal! Tyres completely goosed though. I was drifting first thing this morning. Still legal but no grip. :) Fun though. Great car. :D

Hating to be the bearer of bad news but it could be oil on the plate. My Reliant SS1 did this & only once warm would it release the clutch. If it was master cylinder I'd expect it to feel slightly strange.

I would have thought the pedal would be near the floor if it was the master.

Mmmmmmmmm  Will know before long. 20000 miles & 3 years. Thats not good. Crank seal was replaced when the engine was rebuilt. Only the steering rack & clutch left to replace now anyway! It will be a new Porsche again any day now.
