Me and a few friends are hopefully going to the 2010 Goodwood festival of speed in July :D . All the reasonably priced accommodation in nearby hotels looks fully booked so the camp site looks like the only option left open to us :? . Has anyone on here been camping at Goodwood before? I'd like to hear what people think about the site and its facilities and see some photographs if you have any!

Some friends and I camped at Goodwood FoS about 4 years ago. I had one of the best weekends of that year. It was quite lax back then in terms of pitches, etc, so we all set up in a circle in a quiet corner, took a BBQ, gazebo, mini-motos to get/arse about. It helped having fantastic weather throughout. Another friend camped last year and said they've tightened up and have designated pitches now, but enjoyed it nonetheless. There was a shower block/portacabin when I went, which whilst not providing you with the most relaxing of washtimes, did the job. On the Saturday night you even get to look longingly up at the house to hear the concert and see the lightshow thrown for all the luvvies and dream about rubbing shoulders with motorsport's greatest, past and present, and all the tasty clacker in their cocktail dresses. <sigh>

It's not really "camping." As long as you can pitch a tent you'll be fine.
