Hope Christmas is going better for you than me so far. Daughter came out with Chicken Pox on Christmas day. By Sunday she was really dancing poor thing. Grounded again. Got the 44 going again with the battery charged up & went in search of a chemist that was open. Had a good blast anyway. But it's too cold to do any work on it at the moment. Hope she will be a bit better by New year. When I go back to work. She's just 10 months old.

Feel your pain ... all three of my kids had it a couple of weeks ago. It seems to be rampant at the moment.
Hope she is feeling better quickly!

Regards
Paul

Sorry to here that m8ee , there is nothing worse ( or more important) than a sick child. We had flu throughout the household in the run up to last xmas and it seemd to be one person after another in the house. This year we have been much more fortunate but despite our better luck we do now have a sick 18 month old. He has some kind of infection but it looks like it could have been far more serious. My thoughts are with your daughter for a swift recovery.

Regards Mas

I hope all the kids get well very soon

Its Been a quiet Xmas here, since we got back from the Caribbean.
But it looks like there maybe major changes in 2010 for us, a change in our 10 year plan, which actually has 6 years to go, and a possible move to New Zealand.

Dave,
I've been wanting to move to NZ for a fair few years, harder to drag oneself than I first thought!!
Business, life, family etc etc...
I even had the 7.30am phonecall from the partying Kiwis on Christmas day :D

I have a similar problem. I am emigrating in 8.5 years when I retire
( but kids will be at school). It is impossible to say where we will go though as Europe in particular is changing so rapidly, along with the rest of the world. Where we like today my well be so different in 8 plus years time. Maybe we should start a
'leaving the U.K some time' discussion topic

I'll be next if that discussion is started ....
Tried to escape a year or more ago, but couldn't sell house due to market. Now house is not worth enough to make it worth while (for now!)
I will do it .... just a case of when.
Nothing agains the UK ... l just want to live and work in the States. Enjoy the freedoms they have and proper seasons.

Regards
Paul

We have been to NZ 3 times now and each time we go there it gets more attractive to us to emigrate.
The cost of living there, compared to the UK is lower, its seems to be a much more relaxed lifestyle.

Check requirements for any country you fancy emigrating to before you sell your house and resign your job though!

Obviously free movement within EU but other countries have very exacting requirements for new immigrants. Typically they want young people (the pensions burden is a real time bomb for many countries) and only those with specific professional skills/trades. Medics always in demand, and of course multinationals can move their employees around within certain limitations.

Just hope I get to use it one day!!

I think the mother of my 2 children would be a bit miffed if I maried a lady for a Green card ! , I genuinely did mute the suggestion once re an American friend and got a very rude reply .

I for one have to be here for 8 and a half years yet so no event is safe as they say

I selected very carefully ;-)

Can't see it happening for years though. Nevermind ... I shall enjoy the sunshine here instead for now:-)
