My car came with a de-laminated windscreen. This shows as a milky colour in the bottoms corners of the screen.
Fortunately, these are outside of the drivers view as they are below the bonnet.

Any ideas what options i have to replace the screen?
Can you fail an MOT on a screen like this?

I think I'm right in saying that the windscreen is bonded into the body shell i.e. not an easy job to replace.

I would speak to your insurers and see if you can get it replaced through them.

Mine is too as are a lot I see. No it won't fail a MOT & if it doesn't leak I'd leave it TBH.

I have seen a couple of classics with the same problem and they had put a black vinyl strip across the bottom 1" of the screen. Like a sunstrip across the bottom edge. TBH if someone hadn't have pointed it out I probably wouldn't have noticed it.

Only thing you can do is change the screen. Cheapest I can get a bonded screen supplied and fitted for is £160

Personally I'd only change a screen as a last resort. A lot of people have had them changed & had all sorts of grief. This isn't a car made by robots accurate to hundreths of a mm. So therefore the one size fits all screen may not fit very well, leak or generally not look good.

slightly off topic i know, but mine is still the original screen with the "check oil " sticker on it, but it has a non MOT failing chip on the passenger side, i asked at the local asda when autoglass had one of their "we'll repair your screen FOC on the insurance" days, the guy was really honest and said it would probably crack the screen if they tried to fill the chip as it was so old
