If this is true these ships should be stopped from using cheap fuel full stop and quickly?
How can they focus on cars when it is the case that this level of pollution is tollerated off the coast?

No surprise at all. If all the cars in the world were taken off the road. It wouldn't make any difference. They amount to under 3% of global pollution. The humble barbeque is far worse. They even banned the lighter fluid in America because it's so polluting. So they sell it here instead. How does a toy town car that wears out in 18 months save the planet? My Porsche is a true eco car as it's still going after 23 years. Whenever I tell anybody this at a party there looking sideways at me because the politicians have brainwashed them into thinking that the motor car is the root of all evil. But they still drive!! :?

I know what you mean JJ. You try to tell people how cheap it is to run an old car and they just dont believe you!I am in the fortunate position of having paid off my mortgage so I could have any car I wanted if I financed it.But will I ? No way,Im happy with the old cars Ive got.I understand them,ie no complex electronic stuff,I enjoy driving them ,ie no traction control or other driving aids, its all down to me.! 8) Unfortunately I cant do anything about the rust which may soon mean the loss of the old 240 estate(sob). :( Anyway,us 944 owners have got the best cars in the world so its the others who have the problems!!!!! :D :D :D

Hi Guys,

its not only the ships that are floating that cause pollution, many ships that are now wrecks still leak oil and other pollutants (some as far back as WWI) I dont think scrapped cars cause pollution for this length of time.
