Hi :)

I went to Kristiansands once on a Winter survival course lol....it was a little cold shall we say, but that was in January when average temperatures are a few degrees below zero...

I seem to remember someone saying that the summer months are ok though...

All the best Brett :)

We are off to Tromso in Feb, temps below Zero, from what I can see it looks quite expensive.

Very nice though.

I had a long chat by e-mail on a Noggie 928 list about taking my LHD car (if I found a job there).
Basically you can do it for a number of months.
If you exceed your time and car is still in the country no matter if it is by mistake, accident, car written off etc.
You are liable to pay Noggie tax on the car. Which would be based on the price when it was new but discounted.
For a 95 928 GTS it would be around 30k GBP as in 95 the car sold in Norway for 130K GBP.

Went to Trondheim in 2005. Only for the day though... It snowed.

Places that can still charge you to 'import your car' from memory that will be Norway , Iceland , Switzerland I think everyone else is part of the European Superstate :bom:

I have only visited Switzerland out of the three ( where I would LOVE to live) , I would like to visit the other two but there are so many 'warmer' countries I need to visit :bigsmurf:

I visited Switzerland back in 2000 when I was chair and TiPEC had an Switz region.
Myself and the GF were doing a tour of Europe by 928.
We stayed with members in a couple of different towns including Adrian Streather who later became an author and even later our magazine editor.
Lovely place but I had to stump up a years road tax for my 928 as soon as got there.
Loads of classic cars and much cheaper than you think.
I was shocked to find marahina (not sure of the spelling) growing in a public garden.

Tried to get into Italy but there was too much snow on the passes. 928's do not like snow even with winter tyres.
