Just thought I'd announce the arrival of my new 944 , I'm dying to know if the last owner Peter from Wales was the Tipec member or if it was someone before him.

I'm also hopeing that since it has at some point been a Tipec enthusiasts car, someone wil know the car and it's owner and maybe even tell me it's a gooden

Anyway she is a 1987 944 Turbo with a mere 110,000 on the clock and that includes my 5 hour road trip home to N/E Herts. The car has some rather unexpected extras under the bonnet so I hope they are worthwhile ones

Definately feels safer to drive than my old one feels more solid on the road no rattles creaks and general worries there. Does perform differently too, hard to explain but not any quicker picking up still lag if the revs are low but more willing to go redline and pulls very well at the higher revs if that makes sense. Can't see the boost guage going any higher than 1.8 so I assume it is running standerd boost ? , what do I know re this sort of thing anyway lol

Lecie mirrors work , cwntral locking button works sunroof works and shock so does the clock. One button on the drivers seat doesnt thought thats a pain as its one you need.

Anyway dying to know does anyone know my car or maybe Peter B from Wales ?

Sounds like a nice car you have there. A well cared for example.
We need some pictures as soon as the big yellow thing in the sky shines tomorrow please.
I hope its the car youve been looking for. The leccy switch on the seat is easy to repair and parts can be sourced easily.

I just couldnt resist another turbo TBH , even though it wasnt exactly on my door step

Well I can see it has a Bailey dump valve
( I assume it's a dump valve and it says Bailey on it front right of engine) , Promax Boost Enhancer and theres a bill for a Wildfire head gasket. Thats just whats obvious who knows if anything else, no idea and im too knackered to loook through all the bills.
I imagine the wastegate is standard or they would have taken the boost enhancer off
( or I've read that wrong ).

It has the usual wing tip corner rust but sound sills , I think inside the sills is liberally sprayed with something like Waxoyl as its pretty sticky in there and it isnt oil.
So It does have its faults , im not saying its perfect as it isnt but I'm hopeing it is a car that has been mechanically cared for and the mileage is definately genuine and not bad at 110. belts were done at 101,000 .

The car has Tele's on and lord I dislike them so much , yet it seems others don't from what Ive read since publishing my dislike for them. On the plus side, unlike my last one the interior is close to immaculate in black leather winged seats that really grip you, to be honest if you were a bit 'large' you would struggle in them but they were super snug.
Oh and rear seat belts my boy will be extatic.

Other than that it's in the lap of the gods as they say but I have 363 days MOT left whatever happens as it has just been done. I would really like to speek to whoever the Tipec member was though who once had the car , i dont know if ot was the last owner or not.

Now do I do the honest thing and remove those Tipec stickers or do I deal with it another way have to sort that one pronto, maybe at the classic car show.

It all sounds good Mas. A car that has obviusly been well looked after by its owner or mechanic.
Wildfire gaskets wouldnt be known of by your local round the corner garage or kwick fit, so someone who has owned it has been an enthusiast.

Keep the enhancer on whatever type wastegate you have, it'll get the turbo spinning quicker by stopping the wastegate creep and so the turbo lag. Although you may like that '80s turbo lag feel Only kidding mate

Jim , if you read my post above re dealing it with another way , your way is the way I was suggesting , I was just trying to have a joke about it ( I try not to be too serious)

The point was I was intending to use my visit to the tipec stand ( at NEC) as a good time to sign up and say hellooooooo

Save ruining the stickers , hold on you've re read and out editied me now my post doesnt make sense

I havnt been to Santapod since I was about 19 years old, i'm far from a boy racer these days

I actually wouldnt mind visiting though I have to say , apparently one or two folk from the Volvo performance forum are going and my missus likes the Volvo performance forum ( not bad for a bird )

Do many folk go to watch and be sociable or is it run your car and leg it without a chat , when I went it was to watch drag racing so obviously no social.

I feel the need to mention that one of the folk on the Volvo forum apparently said to my missus " what a 944 turbo, a T5 is far quicker " , I was disusted having owned both and now being firmly in the Porsche camp and told her to tell him what for

If I were happy to shag my clutch to death then , maybe lol , but seriously If i did go it would not be to take part on the strip tempting though it is.
