Well before you pull the pump out. It's arkward to get at up the side of the tank. Try puting 12v direct to the pump & see if it runs. If you get sparks then the pumps favourite. Other possibility would be DME relay. Though I don't know if that could cause the fuse to go. It's easy to plug another in to check though. Got a new pump for mine from GSF for £50.

I'd agree not to difficult to get at assuming the strap isn't rusted to bits!

Hi.

I'd try the DME relay first. If its faulty it could be causing the fuse to blow. Failing that, fuel pump as already mentioned.

Hi :)

Here is what I would do....

I would disconnect power to the pump.....then feed independent power to it, I have a special Snap On tool called a Power probe to do this, but a length of wire from the battery WITH A FUSE HOLDER AND FUSE in it would do....

If the car then runs, you KNOW its the power system TO the pump thats faulty and you can trace it back with your piece of wire, one step at a time....

All the best Brett :)

Well done, wiring faults like this can be a real PITA to find. And that comes from someone who trained on aircraft doing this
