But presenter and former racing driver Tiff Needell was still in the dark, posting on his Twitter account yesterday morning: “I know [Channel] Five is a bit short on budgets and I know they’re looking at all things but I haven’t been told anything officially yet.”

Wonder why? Must have been cheap to make and they sold it to other channels. I never watched it though myself unless desparate, maybe others felt the same about it. Vicki is quite nice :-)

I tend to avoid those shows but I prefer Tiff and co to Clarkson and the two stooges.

It's format was old hat and had run its course. I've preferred Top Gear for a long time as it makes me laugh which not a lot on tv these days does!

can't be enough car programs for me :bounce: , yes 5th gear was a bit old fashioned, but some of the features were quite interesting

I guess at least they actually reviewed cars now and again rather than race the space shuttle to the moon while dropping caravans on innocent but questionable classics.

Trouble was they seem to spend a lot of time doing practical reviews on medeocre cars, you know the sort of cars that are bought by people that are more influenced by the colour........

Top Gear is more fantasy cars and escapism..... and a laugh, but they get across how a car feels not just facts and figures

I didn't mind the majority of fifth gear but didn't watch it for two reasons, both were irritating and had beards.

I’ll not miss Fifth Gear. The only reason left for watching it was VBH’s infectious enthusiasm. Besides, old episodes will still be on Dave umpteen times a day.

I enjoy Clarkson's sense of humour and the rapour with his 'henchmen' and watch top gear.
I have to say though I agree with the poster who said re Fifth gear carrying out reviews on 'real' cars for normal folk. I personally will miss Fifth Gear.

Cheers Mas

:( it is a shame when any motoring programme is axed as there is not much out there at present,i do not mind watching repeat programms you can pick out the bits you want to watch again,i work within the tv industry and help produce the daily tv audience ratings in the uk and its based on how many people watch a programe and the cost of production.

Vicki has let herself go since last time I watched 5th Gear then.

I found it pretty good to watch although I prefer the classic cars on cable

Shame, it did reveiw 'normal' cars for Joe public and was quite an interesting programme, we all have to drive something as a daily drive. For sure it was better than the Clarkson claptrap nonsense on the other side, which must be described as light entertainment (poor) rather than a motoring show.
