Inspiration needed along the lines of...

I have the ideas but not seen many in this syle...

euro / cleaned / dubbed/ no-rice / whatever you want to call it... style 924's

along lines of 15x9's in the form of BBS/Gotti's/ Borbet A's (flat caps of course) stretched rubbers

Fronts tucked, rears cambered right out..

inside im thinking s2 dash but carpets out... and cage in.

exterior im thinking bright white...plain and simple. ((may call for gt rear arches though and 44 fronts with that alloy setup))..

i want to steer away from turbo's as i want to do short sprint time trails once a month in it so just want it light and nippy....

however.. i need to keep it legal on the road to use everytime i get bored on an evening.

any ideas of where i can get images of others projects to point me in the right direction so i dont loose momentum with this..

your thoughts are much appreciated.

There's plenty of racing front and rear bumpers available in the States that will smooth both ends out, especially an 944 S2 or.................. Turbo! Take the badges and the door strips off, 924 hatch with no spoiler, door handles off a 968 or an Audi convertion. Wheels are plentiful, maybe a set of polished 16" club sport wheels , just don't be tempted to stretch the tyres and no need for hub adaptors. Coilovers to get the suspension low but with the rear arms the camber will be a problem. And don't forget a set of pressed German plate to finish it off.

Fitting a series two 944 dashboard will be a massive job involving a great deal of time, effort and parts. Id advise against trying: and I have done it.

sounds like an interesting project, single front wiper, rear wiper delete on non spoilered tailgate, debadged, S2 or 968 engine and running gear, 968CS suspension, and if you are going for carrera rear wings why not a GTS front panel and lights ?

and thinking... where to start... my head is spinning with all these ideas...

first off its honesty time for me... my old paa is in the motortrade (ex VAG tech) and has always had a strong love for these.. and he has sat outside deteriorating at his garage an 84 924 and a 80ish (w-reg) 924T..,his pride and joy though is an 86-928 that is allways up in the air....on the spare 4 poster ramp under soft blankets.. that he uses only on xmas day! tight f*! haha (every time i go to see him hes stood undernieth it with his coffee grinning over how clean it is...)

so any way... i mentioned (in a text) the idea of finding a car to do a local time trail event that is comming up..... and i got one back saying we will use the silver 924...

so in essence... i think im going to have to go and get this basic 24 on the ramp and make sure it is upto the job... if not... then it will be major beg and plead to let me use the 924T....

if it is.. then game on!

Run it up to temp..
and see what it fails mot on.. i suppose!

Its nice to see some interest in 924's.

Changing the dash to a late 44 is a nightmare but I've seen a number. I once saw a 924S Automatic at the factory with a late dash. Also Abbey porsche had a 924 with a late dash plus an S2 engine and brakes. If you have the time and are rabid enough it amazing what you can achive.

I think the dash is your only big problem then. Might be easier to swap the hole loom from a later 944 into the 924, probably need all the sensors, motor, etc as well.

If you want to use it as a time trial car then why use the series 2 944 dash? I was under the impression that it was heavier than the 924/944 series 1 dash.
