Hi All,
I am curently rebuilding a 1982 Porsche 928S from the ground up and have got to the stage of spraying the wheel archs & engine bay ready to take refurbed running gear and engine however I want to check I am using the correct paint colour that the car came out of the factory with can any body help or point me in the direction of anybody who may be able to help.

On the door frame it states 956 9 3
Zinnmetallic
U 3

I belive the 956 means it is Pewter & Zinmetallic mean metalic finish, however what do the 9 3 & U3 refer to any idea's ?

Nice to hear the project is coming along. Paint code 956 is pewter Metallic and this was a special order colour for 1982MY.

I'm afraid I don't know what the other numbers designate

Maybe the characters apart from 956 refer to interior options/colour (eg leather, seat piping)? I've never found a reference for interior codes.

I've posed question on your behalf to Rennlist - they have some real gurus there so will relay any insights they have.
