Hello all, I have just bought a 1992 968 coupe so far all appears to be fine appart from the fact the it leaks like a sive but I have no idea where the water is coming in. At the moment after a day of constant rain the foor behind the drivers seat has about 1/4" of standing water across it. I have checked all around the sun roof and all appears dry there with no sign of any drips. I thought it might be coming from around the rear quater window and took off the interior pannel below the window but can not see any drips and wet patches there. Could it be coming from around the filler cap?
The rear boot seals look compression set and there were some wet patches in the boot so I guess it could be coming from there but not sure how it gets from the boot to behind the drives seat!! I have been told in the past that there is a company called Forest Green? Who can provide boot and door seals but I have not been able to find them on line. Can anyone help out with a name for boot and door seals plus how difficult are theyto fit?

You need to check the drains on the sunroof. Unlike a lot of cars there are 4, 2 front 2 rear, assuming it is the same as the 944 then the filler tees into the sunroof drain on the O/S. Use a piece of stiff wire or an old speedo cable & ensure it goes all the way out.
Check the door seals, the tail gate seals & the sun roof seals. Ceck the drains on the tailgate latches. Is the tail gate tight, does it rattle ? If it does then the tailgate latches need replacement or adjusting. Check the rear light seals they let water in. Check the drains in the bottoms of the doors, they could be filling up.

And breathe!

Don't assume indies will automatically be cheaper than OPC, sometimes the Porsche price is better

As Jim says, check the OPC price as they may be cheaper.

Leaves blocking the drain holes in the bulk head?

I had the same problem on my S2, the solution (which I wouldn't have found without this forum) was to replace the plastic cover over the heater and wiper controls which was badly split. Apparently water built up here and then ran along the corrugated floor under the carpets. Hope this helps.
