How does a 944 breath? I mean I've never noticed an engine breather. Or is it all done by the seperator? Pretty sure my engine is pressurising as after replacing the cam seal at the weekend oils coming out everywhere now! Looks like a blocked breather but I can't see one. No reference to it on Clarks garage. Pictures on pet aren't too helpful.
I've had the car now for 3 years so I supose it had to break :occasion6:

Pretty sure most of it is under the the intake manifold. From the top of the oil seperator and into the intake pipes somewhere! I keep meaning to find out for sure and fit a catch can.

Thanks. All I can find is for US spec cars. They have a pipe from the top of the seperator that goes to the inlet manifold. Lindsey racing do vent kit with pretty polished catch tank! Is the seperator cleanable or is it time for a new one?????

If you're careful, you can prise the tabs open and get the top off (I warmed mine up in hot water to soften the plastic) without damaging it. There's a large o-ring which needs replacing underneath, along with the two at the block connections and another under the filler cap.

Thanks for that detailed photo! I've ordered the o rings from JMG today. Hope it doesn't break as there over £100. Does the pipe just go to the inlet manifold? Tempted to plug the hole in the manifold & tie the pipe down to exit under the car. Just have to wait for the parts now.

It goes to the J boot just in front of the throttle body.

Thanks. Your a star. It's going to get blocked off then. If the breather makes a mess I'le add a catch tank later. Hope this is an end to my cambox gasket problems. :) Only took me three years to work it out.......

I'll say thanks for that too. The Lindsey Racing breather tank doesn't have a line to the J pipe so, on the turbo at least, it can't be that important to have. Anyone got one and had any problems?

I got a spare breather off ebay when mine was blocked and causing a real problem. In the end, it wouldn't fit with a tight seal so I had to steam clean the original. It's just sat in my garage so if you want it PM your address and I'll post it up.

Since Porsche have deleted them from there catalogue. JMGarage have tracked down some O rings. Not that easy as there 5mm thick. To complicate things there are 3 different oil fillers needing different o rings. If the courier shows it might be fixed for Saturday!
