you can still tint but dont go to heavy with the tint as for the reflecters...they dont need to be in the light cluster..so you can get the stick on ones put them some were were they dont look out of place ...job done......

Yes, that’s my car in the photo from Gaydon. Glad somebody out there (except me) likes it!

My smoked lights (rear clusters, side repeaters and front indicators) were all done by spraying very carefully. It’s also possible to buy really well done ones on eBay if you keep looking. They usually seem to come from Germany, so make sure you’re searching worldwide and not just in the UK. I had a set of the German ones on my last 944 and they were excellent quality. Cost me about forty quid I think, but that was a few years ago. Just avoid any that are done with self-adhesive film. It’s useless for external applications like that.

The smoked reflector is an MOT fail, yes. Every year my tester says “I did tell you those smoked reflectors were a fail, yes?” and every year he passes me anyway. Of course, I have a set of unsmoked rear light clusters in my garage just in case.

My windows are tinted as well, aye. ultra-light on the side windows, light on the rear quarters and full smoke on the rear hatch. The rear hatch of a 944 is apparently the most difficult window shape to tint of any car … so says the guy who’s done two of mine! He had to use three pieces of film and join them along the lines of the heater element to keep it looking seamless. Do not try to do it yourself, find the best specialist you can!

Haha!

Cheers Stephen. I know it’s not to everybody’s taste, with the tinting and smoking and the big stereo inside, but at least most people agree that it’s been well put together even if they don’t agree with my choices!

Mine has smoked rear lights and I hate them

Attempted to get the tinting spray off but it took forever and I only managed to do one reflector. One of mine is also darker than the other.
