Hello,

Has anyone replaced these? If so where did you get them?

I was looking at Eurocarparts but they state that the bottom arms do not come with any bushes and I cant be bothered to get the old bushes out.
GSF list them for a similar price but does anyone know if they come with bushes?

Any other suggestions?

Thanks

Neil

Yours is an early car so the ball joint is replaceable for 20 quid or so. If the bushes have gone then the arms are VW so should be available from Bert at Berlyn or similar. Do you need the arms or just the bushes?

Try GSF. They normally supply arms with the bushes, and the arms I believe are meant to be the same as the Mk1 Golfs.

I replaced an arm on my S2, and to be honest it was quite simple and a joy to work with compared to other cars(albeit a pricier proposition than yours). Make a note of where the castor block was though.

Just noticed that the 924 has castor blocks too. Your lower arms will have the front bushes, but not the rear castor blocks.

The bushes are fine, but the arms are badly corroded. I was expecting the arms to come with at least the front bush.

The wishbones came originally from a Volkswagen K70. Thats trivia and it doesnt help a deal; I realise...

I dont think that the arms will come with bushes, as they are not bonded into the arm. It should be easy enough to swap them over anyway. Even easier if you have some polyurethane type bushes. You could also try asking on the forum at www.edition38.com see if any guys on there know of anywhere that may do the arms with bushes.

Matt.

Thanks for the responses, have confirmed with GSF and Eurocarparts that the bushes do not come with the arms.

So going to remove the current bushes as I am sticking to a budget :-)
