Just wondering if anyone has a decent 2nd hand clutch kit for sale for my 85 lux or failing that a 924s clutch as they fit too right??
I am in birmingham and can collect within the west mids. I have someone doing my car on monday so bit of an emergency really.
Cheers

I'd try GSF. They keep a lot in stock & you get a good discount in the club. Will be free membership for a year on this! :)

Personally I would never fit a s/h clutch on anything. On the 944 even more so as it is a massive amount of labour to swap. You are talking circa 7 hours plus. For the sake of buying a new clutch that seems madness.

The clutch is already out and the car on ramps so labour isnt an issue at this stage only time.
Trouble is im finding it hard to justify the silly prices that places want for a new clutch at the mo. £500 is hard to swallow so a good second hand one is my number one option at the mo. Another problem is however i have a guy doing some work on it and it is currently on ramps at a friends garage and monday is the day it needs to be gone as he will want the ramps back to do his own work hence the time restraints.
If push comes to shove i will buy new.

You will regret fitting a second hand one if it fails with in 1 year. They redesigned it to do away with the rubber centre. It has a hard life! I'd do the slave cylinder at the same time!

JJ, I have decided to buy a new one and Max at frazerparts has very kindly offered to go to the shop today to get one for me so im off for a trip to liverpool shortly to pick it up so fingers crossed, touch wood and all that stuff the car will be completed tomorrow.
Good news is the car passed its MOT on saturday too so the clutch is the final piece of the jigsaw. As soon as i get it back i will post up some pics. Cant wait to drive it now, im like a big kid again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well i drove it back tonight after the clutch was done and wow what a drive. Its had a nice oil and filter change at the same time and the drive back was smooth and clunk free, it felt like a completely different car.
What also amazed me was the looks it got too on the way back home. People stopping to have a look at it. Pretty amazing for a car that is nearly 25 years old and initially only cost me £600 although that has been totally eclipsed by what i have spent on it since but to me it was worthwhile.
Gonna give it a wax tomorrow weather permitting and post up some pics.
Just gonna try and remove this grin from my face now as its gettin on the girlfriends nerves!!
