only a week after the freak accident that killed henry surtees, another freak accident has hospitalised massa with a fractured skull and reports of some damage to his brain after being hit with debris from reubens brawn, massa is described as being in a life threatening but stable condition after being put in a coma after an operation on a fractured skull, lets hope he makes a full recovery

Yup amazing accident spookily similar to the Surtees one :( It also puts him out for the rest of the session I'd guess.
Get well soon Felipe :blackeye:

Well, I'm not a medic, but I'd have thought if you've fractured your skull once you'd be better off moving to closed-cockpit racing?

Alonso to Ferrari this year perhaps?

I was stunned after watching the news on Sunday morning.

Hopefully he makes a full recovery and gets back doing what he does best very soon.

Horrible, freakish accident. Felipe's family must have been distraught too - they weren't at the race and had to fly in yesterday. And Rubens Barrichello must be feeling bad about it as the part fell off his car. He and Massa are supposed to be really good mates and travel to races together.

Here's to a full and speedy recovery.

Taken from Sky news. Out of critical danger, but the eye injury may threaten his racing career - let's hope not, eh?

GET WELL SOON FILIPE.
