Hi been looking at this site for a little bit for technical information and stuff and now decided to join!.

I have just bought a Red Porsche 924 1982 with just over 100k on the clock for £200. At the moment I am just fixing it for the MOT as so far the problems are: fuel banjo nut leak (rust hole! ), front brakes sticking, paint needs a t-cut, some front wing rust and torn front passenger seat and a rusted wishbone other than that looks like new! haven't checked all the electrics yet!

should be a very nice car after that! :D .

Cheers.
Jon.

Hi & welcome

Sounds a reasonable buy, have a good look at the under bonnet fuel pipes as they age they harden & if they split it is roasty toasty car!

Thank goodness an enthusiast has got the car rather than a scrapyard.
Welcome to Porsche ownership.
Its great to have another 924 in the club.
Our club was originally called the 924/944 Club but 924 are so rare these days.

Stephen

Hi and welcome to the forum and Pork ownership.

Love to see some pics when it's photogenic, or even if not.

Hi

Welcome to the forum, like Stephen pleased too hear another car has been spared the scrapyard.

My advice would be not to se T-Cut, you'll strip away what paint is left and finish up with duller paint than you started with. You need to clean the paint, polish, then wax to put back the oils that have been lost over the years.

Good luck with it and kep us posted with your progress and please ask as many questions as you like.

I Usually work on Suzukis, Subarus and Peugeots and so far these are the easiest drum brakes I have worked on to date!! they actually came off without bashing them for an eternity! .

Fuel Pump cleaned off and it still works.

Just 1 question so far..........Has anybody got a photo of their fusebox (main and additional) so I can make sure I have the right fuses in there?.

Cheers.
Jon.

Do not use TCUT. Or else you will be learning how to paint with a foam roller! Welcome to the looney bin. :)
