Interesting read. Not on the 944 though, surely?

You can get a very good finish with rollers. Lots of prep just like spraying.

Well, I suppose I'm just a bit sceptical about the end result. Have you seen anything painted like this up close? Perhaps do a test on an old door or something first?

Yup I will but the finish looks great & I've had cars with a 4K paint job & they end up so precious you don't use them.

Yeah I know that feeling - my old 993 never used to go anywhere unless I was confident of the parking arrangements. 500M shopping trolley exclusion zone is not very practical really...

Yes & the hire of security guards & chainlink fence at every destination gets expensive as well.

I got fed up with my garage door (before I became a flat dweller.) peeling. Dulux what sit witht he 5 yr garuntee came off every 12 months like clockwork. So I took some advice from a pro & built it up with 3 coats of primer (each a slightly different colour) rubing down each with finer & finer wet & dry. Finished it with celulose. 2 coats. It looked like it had been sprayed. No one ever believed it was done with a roller. It's easy on flat panels. Gets tricky with slots & cut outs like the spoiler. If you make a mistake you can cut it back with wet & dry. Takes more time than spraying but the finish is as good as the care you take with it. The paint may need thinning a bit depending on the paint & the temperateture.
The garage door lasted 12 years & still looked good when I sold the place. :)

JJ quite agree about the cellulose but this stuff has very coverage & gives a very very hard finish.
