I need a bit of help. My 996 C2 tyres are Pirelli '0''s the fronts have around 3-4mm the rear are close to 1.6mm.
Clearly I need to change them, the reason I am asking for help is that I am due to do a Track day in June and I seem to recall reading somewhere that it is not advisable to do a track day on new tyres.
What are your thoughts, I am thinking of changing all 4 as the fronts whilst having 3-4mm do not look to cleaver after my last track day at Silverstone Gp circuit.

Re: Tyre Help
Tyres take at least 200miles to "run in" Giving them beans too early can A. be slippy as the release agent won't have worn off & B. can spin the tyres on the rims because the soap they use to fit them won't have worn off.

Re: Tyre Help
Thanks to every one for there help, I have ordered 2 new rears and will replace the fonts after the track day. I will be able to do around 300 miles before the rears hit the track
