Just got AA renewal in £158.50 for the full monty job. Last year I rang & gave the TIPEC discount code & got around £30 off.
So I ring this year & say I'm a TIPEC member & the nice lady said as I'd been an AA member since 87 she could do 20% off, then said well given the length of AA membership lets say 30%! So it is now about £110 What a result & more than pays for my membership of TIPEC.

The AA book also details loads of discounts on other things as well.

Am also with AA. In fact I get 'free' AA via my daily driver, but only that car is covered so I have another joint membership so that my wife is covered and - cucially - I can use Relay if my 928 decides she needs a tow one day (don't think Saab is generous enough to extend my cover to the 928)!

Anyway was sent renewal today for £171, rise of £10 since last year. Called them to query and they told me that was after a 25% TIPEC discount was applied (I thought renewal discount was 10%, but didn't argue!). They transferred me to that department who always knock something off for you if you even vaguely look like leaving (see mobile phone networks), who reduced the whole thing to £137 by applying further 20% discount. I've only been a member for couple of years so this was fine by me.

So make sure you get your TIPEC discount, and query a renewal rate anyway. The business model relies a lot on inertia, and replacing you with a new customer is expensive so there are usually reductions to be had if you spend a few minutes on the phone asking.
